It's been awhile now since my first blog. I am down a few more pounds. Today it is 4 mos since I went raw. My weight is down by 54 lbs. I no longer need a scooter to do my grocery shopping. I am off liquid oxygen and have been getting some pointers from my vegetarian daughter on what to do and what not to do when you want to loose weight on RAW. One thing I did not realize is that you need to stay away from all fats, that means nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocados or tahini. Also dried fruits and vegetables are a no no. If you really want to lose and be healthy eat only fruit until noon then start with veggies. Don't eat fruit and veggies together. Fruits and veggies digest at different speeds. Don't drink water while eating, that dilutes the stomach fluids and interferes with proper digestion. Do more juices. Don't combined a lot of fruits. I had gotten stuck at 268 then 272 back to 270 and just kept jumping around between the 268 and 272 mark then my daughter gave me these few pointers and I went from 272 yesterday to 265 today. Also I have had a lot of fluid retention in my legs and feet but today there is none. Amazing what a few changes make. I am healthier then I have been in years. All of my slacks are to long were before they were short and I have to keep tying the waist smaller and smaller. Today I was able to wear a real bra instead of a sports bra. I have lost enough weight to actually see that I do have boobs. (Small but they are there again.) I'll go for now and will try to write more often. Until next time!

First Post

I'm new to raw, just 3 1/2 months. Started at 319 lbs now 267lbs. My "raw buddy" is my grandaughter Alisha. I found a great doctor who directed me to the raw foods lifestyle because of health issues. After just six weeks my cholesterol went from 210 to 150, my good cholesterol went from 17 to 60, my A1C went from 11 to 6. I was on oxygen, but was taken off of it after going raw. I can now go shopping without using a scooter. Alisha and I have been experimenting with raw recipes, tonight we made salsa for Alisha's school party tomarrow(they are ordering from Barbarito's). We're using a variety of lettuce leaves for dipping. We support each other, which makes our journey easier.
