First Post

I'm new to raw, just 3 1/2 months. Started at 319 lbs now 267lbs. My "raw buddy" is my grandaughter Alisha. I found a great doctor who directed me to the raw foods lifestyle because of health issues. After just six weeks my cholesterol went from 210 to 150, my good cholesterol went from 17 to 60, my A1C went from 11 to 6. I was on oxygen, but was taken off of it after going raw. I can now go shopping without using a scooter. Alisha and I have been experimenting with raw recipes, tonight we made salsa for Alisha's school party tomarrow(they are ordering from Barbarito's). We're using a variety of lettuce leaves for dipping. We support each other, which makes our journey easier.

Hi RG I think it is really wonderful that you have begun this raw journey and that you are seeing such fantastic results already re your weight loss. Wonderful to have such help too from your grandaughter it must be a very special bond that you have together.
I am still trying raw but not always managing 100% but still have to cook for hubby. He is happy to eat all my raw but wants more as well!!! Keep up the good work.

My doctor told me if I didn't do something drastic I would be dead before 5 years. That is enough to make anyone take a look at their life and what they have been doing to their body and health. My granddaughter put a picture of me last Thanksgiving on her blog, I was astonished at how much younger I look now not to mention how much healthier. Keep with raw but remember if you keep going back to cooked you will never break the addiction to cooked food. It's like quitting smoking, you can't just smoke one every once in awhile or you will be back to a pack a day in no time. I know because I stopped 13 years ago. It was an all or nothing just like going raw. I know I am doing what is best for me. Good Luck.
